Dear Parents,
Last month in T1, our focus was routines and classroom expectations. We did this by going over the classroom rules, by showing how to keep our room safe, and by keeping a steady routine. This helped the children transition back into the classroom setting easier.
With Covid procedures being a part of our everyday lives, the children have become more aware of their daily routines; for example, taking their temperatures every two hours and washing their hands as soon as they arrive.
They are role playing in the classroom, taking turns using blocks to check one another’s temperatures. They will also use the babies in dramatic play.
This month we will be focusing on ELG Mathematics: “The child will begin to develop an awareness of quantity.” We will do this by singing songs about numbers and counting, nesting toys, and placing books in different learning centers that invite the children to explore the books freely. We will be using counting bears as a small group activity.
As always, I will be sending home or emailing activities to help better understand our monthly focus.
Thank you for doing your part during these hard times. Eventually we will be back to normal. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to email me at astevens@delawarechild.org.
Sincerely,
Miss Anita and Mrs. Regan
