Happy New Year! 2021, here we come!
The Infant room is ready to greet all the new babies born this year. With all the challenges in 2020, we have made it, and our babies shined their way through. In December, we started learning about cold textures, and we did lots of exploring with those textures. Activities included making our own snowflakes, looking at different ice shapes and how hard they were, and investigating the texture of different wrapping papers.
In the previous month, our main objective was language development. In the month of January, we are going to practice “soft hands” with our friends. The children are growing and getting curious about each other and wanting to touch them but are not quite sure how hard or soft to do so. All month we will practice soft hands and work on learning the sign “gentle.” Things to do at home to help your little one grasp the concept of soft hands is to show the child with your hand how to be soft, then repeat over and over. For our investigative side, we will be using the sense of taste to do some exploration. The littles will be tasting limes and painting with whip cream - “sour and sweet”. Stay tuned!
Welcome to the New Year!
