When disasters or emergencies strike, young children rely on the calm, steady presence of the adults around them. Caring Through Crisis equips child care providers with emotional readiness, practical strategies, and confidence they need to support children before, during, and after a crisis. This training explores how emergencies impact children’s behavior, emotions, and sense of safety and how child care providers can respond. Participants learn developmentally appropriate ways to prepare children for drills and real events, practice grounding techniques that help both adults and children stay regulated and discover simple routines that restore a sense of normalcy after disruption.
