Preschool to Light up December!
I want to start by thanking all the parents who were able to volunteer their time by joining us on our trick-or-treating walk for Halloween, and also a special thanks to everyone for bringing their children so they could enjoy the special day. They had a lot of fun!!
November was certainly a good time! We had so much fun making pumpkin spice play doh and learning about the different trees on our playground. We have learned words this month such as deciduous, evergreen, photosynthesis, H₂O, plot, and characters! Every day is an opportunity to learn something new, and it is so much fun to see them when they do!
December is going to be just as fun as we start our exploration into the world of the community and the people that work in it. Look for changes in our dramatic play center as we set up for discovering what it’s like to be a chef of a fancy restaurant, an architect designing cool buildings, or the construction worker that helps build them!
The weather is going to get increasingly colder, which means coats, hats, scarves, and gloves or mittens will be necessary to safely enjoy playing outside. We will go outside even if it’s only for a very short period of time to observe the changes the weather brings, so please make sure your child has the appropriate clothing for the day.
With Christmas just around the corner, it is the perfect opportunity to help develop a child’s concept of giving to others. At home, children can pick out a special treat or simple recipe to make for their family or friends. They could even use simple scrapbooking supplies and make Christmas cards for loved ones!
As always, the door to preschool is always open for parents to come in and volunteer, read a story, or participate in any activity! If you have any concerns or questions, please feel free to email me, and I will be more than happy to meet with you!
