To begin, I miss all of my children! I know that they will have changed, and I can’t wait to see what all they have learned.
For the month of June, we are going to work on getting the children back into a routine in the classroom. We will also focus on building trust with the children that have been gone for a while.
We are going to focus on the approaches of learning with the younger infants; the standard we will focus on is Standard 1: begin to show interest in exploring his or her environment. I will work with the infants on eye contact and talking to them about what will come next throughout the day. We will explore with toys that make noise and also toys that the children can grasp with their fingers and hands. I will also have the children explore with different sensory techniques such as finger painting, coloring, grasping the crayon or chalk, and smelling certain items.
The older infants will focus on the Standard 1: Continue to strengthen relationships with adults and begin to develop an interest in other children. The way I will work on this standard with the children is by interacting with them while they are trying to interact with other children. Some games that we will focus on are Pat-a-cake and Peek-a-boo.
The month of June will be full of so much learning and growing. I can’t wait to get all of my children back into our classroom!
Sincerely
Ms. Ashley
