Ms Amanda's Class—Toddler 1

Happy New Year from T1!

In December we completed our lesson on Christmas, which was so much fun! We had a new sensory table filled with mashed potato flakes to simulate snow, and I added Christmas bows, red and green string, and Christmas-colored confetti. The kids had a lot of fun exploring the table, and the Christmas bows led to a lot of conversations about colors. We also read a ton of Christmas books, but I think our class favorite was Christmas Pop-up Peek-a-boo! Every time I opened a flap and the character popped out, our class would scream and laugh; it was so cute! We also did several art projects like painting with cotton balls and Christmas cookie cutouts, which was a fun activity to explore our creative sides. We also had a very special guest come visit our windows - Santa! Most of our class was pretty excited, and Santa even gave our whole class a special gift to take home. We had such a fun time, and we will all be sad when Christmas is over.

But never fear! Going into January we are going to be talking about Dinosaurs! We have had an increased interest in our dinosaur toys, so I thought it would be fun to learn more about the large creatures that roamed the earth. I will be bringing out all my dinosaur books, and I have several activities in mind that involve our dinosaur items in our class. I really think the children are going to enjoy it!
