March’s themes are nutrition and reading. A great resource for nutrition is the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP). This program reimburses child care centers and family child care homes for nutritious meals and snacks to children in care. They are providing meals to over 4.2 million children. Dr. Seuss Day is March 2nd, and this is celebrated in schools to encourage reading in children. Scholastic has some great ideas on how you can celebrate reading and Dr. Seuss on March 2nd.

Apply for PPP Before March 10th: Help for Family- and Center-Based Child Care Businesses With Fewer Than 20 Employees
The Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) is a forgivable loan program to help very small businesses, such as child care programs, with much needed financial support during these unprecedented times. From February 24 to March 10, 2021, only businesses with fewer than 20 employees can apply for a PPP loan. This exclusive application period allows participating lenders to focus on serving very small businesses, such as family child care (FCC) educators and early care and education (ECE) programs. . .

Scholars for Excellence in Child Care
What Is the Scholars Program?
The Scholars program awards scholarships to eligible child care professionals to complete coursework in the area of child development or early childhood education, as well as the Child Development Associate (CDA) and Certified Childcare Professional (CCP) Credential Assessment. These scholarships enable child care providers in Oklahoma to improve their skills through education, receive an educational stipend and continue the availability of quality child care in local communities. . .

CDA Renewal Amnesty Program
Beginning Jan. 1, 2020, the Council will be celebrating 45 years of the CDA®! To celebrate, the Council will offer a limited-time CDA® Renewal Amnesty Program. This program will allow anyone with a CDA® credential expiration date as far back as January 1, 2010, an opportunity to complete the renewal process and make their credential active again. . .
